Her talent has been recognized through prestigious selections, including being one of 40 fellows chosen nationwide for the International Radio and Television Society (IRTS) Foundation, a professional development program, and receiving the Michele Clark Fellowship from the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA), dedicated to supporting up-and-coming journalists of color, and being awarded a scholarship by the Deadline Club—the NYC chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Leah is also a proud member of Lambda Pi Eta, the official communication honor society of the National Communication Association (NCA).
Currently, as a Social Video Intern with The Examination through the Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting, Leah continues to apply her skills in visual content creation and digital storytelling to global health investigations.
She is known for her determination, adaptability, and optimistic approach to producing high-quality journalism.

Leah Mallory is a dynamic multimedia journalist with proven experience across television, radio, and digital reporting, consistently delivering impactful stories. Her career highlights include guest greeting and booking guests for live segments at FOX News, and producing for New York’s #1 station, ABC7NY, where she worked in consumer reports, producing stories that held institutions accountable and put money back into the pockets of viewers.
As a reporter for the New York Amsterdam News, Leah focused on hyperlocal stories that explored digital equity and its impact on marginalized communities. Her insightful work has ranged from spotlighting the challenges and triumphs of Black-owned businesses to investigating broadband accessibility in underserved areas. Notably, her feature on early intervention in Brooklyn and racial disparities earned her a cover story on the New York Amsterdam News.
A May 2025 graduate of Fordham University with a degree in Journalism, Leah began her professional development at WFUV Public Radio, Fordham’s NPR-affiliate and award-winning station, where she honed her skills in interviewing, editing, and audio production as a host and reporter for the daily What’s What podcast. Leah's audio expertise was further honed through her work crafting engaging content for major shows like Z100's Elvis Duran and the Morning Show and SiriusXM's Andy Cohen Live.
